(Three Oaks, Michigan) Humming Vultures, you say? All right—no such critter, as far as I know. But I do know that when Natalie and yours truly took a bike ride south of U.S. 12 the other day we spotted Turkey Vultures kiting over Basswood Road near Martin Road, and then, a bit east on Martin Road, we were talking to our good friend Bob Wagner when a Ruby-throated Hummingbird buzzed right on by on its way to the feeder below the Wagner mansion. Have camera, will click. So I did. Both times. Birding by bicycle in Berrien with Bob and Betty Berrien. It doesn’t get better than that. Does it? All right: We are Charley and Natalie from Chikaming, but you get the idea. And you should know that the great fall migration can start anytime now!
