Mother’s Day

A sight for a baby snapper's eyes.  We encountered this female Snapping Turtle on 44th Avenue in Van Buren County, Michigan.  She was about to lay her eggs by the  side of the road when we appeared.  She retreated until we departed and then went on with her maternal duties.
