In Her Own Words

(July 3, 2013) What a day!  Mom finally agreed to an interview for posterity at the StoryCorps studio in the Cultural Center in downtown Chicago. I had heard that the recordings were archived in the Library of Congress and had told Mom that she definitely wanted to be in that august company, and so she consented. We went over the questions I would ask her, and she gave it considerable thought, and then we trekked into the big city from Michigan on the day before the 4th that summer of 2013 and put Hannah Dick Macfarlan McKelvy on the map.  As we remember her passing two years ago, on June 4, 2014, we can be with her now in her own words.  Enjoy:
