(Michigan City, Indiana) Despite popular misconceptions, Michigan City is neither the capital of Michigan, nor is it a city in Michigan. Rather, it is the city in northwest Indiana that gave rebirth to Natalie’s bicycling adventures, specifically at BIKE STOP CYCLING where they live by their motto: Ride fast, live slow!  Well, in our case, it’s matter of riding slowly and living at a snail’s pace.  That’s how we roll, and, oh, you should have seen Natalie roll out of Bike Stop on Wednesday with her brand-new Trek Verve, which she has dubbed: BLACK MAGIC WOMAN.  Yes, Trina, that means Natalie has a BMW now, but she has her bike back, and she has a husband who also has a brand-new Trek Verve, which he has dubbed: VINNIE THE VERVE.  We took our Verves back to Bike Stop Thursday for some minor adjustments after road-testing them Wednesday, and then we headed down to Patriot Park for our first ride together since early summer when Natalie’s physical therapist put her on the DL and told her that she could return to riding—on a comfort bike, not a drop-bar torture bike—when her back and shoulders were up to the task.  Well, they were certainly up to the task yesterday.  And they are today, and I’d better wrap this up right now, because Natalie and BLACK MAGIC WOMAN are itchin’ for a ride around the ‘hood with yours truly and VINNIE THE VERVE.  More to come, we promise!!!

The sun was shining brightly as Natalie headed out of Bike Stop on Black Magic Woman Wednesday.
