Orbiting the Little Dipper

img_1725(Three Oaks, Michigan) Natalie is still on the DL, so I had to do a solo winter walk the other day on the groomed trails at Little Dipper Farm.  Said farm is, of course, owned by our friends Dick and Debbie Rieth and their three amazing children, Wesley, Evan, and Jessie.  So while Natalie repaired to the farmhouse to supervise the family’s annual baking of Christmas cookies for neighbors, I and my Winter Walker snowshoes literally had a field day in the snow and cold.  And, when I finally returned to the Rieth home, which smelled warmly and deliciously  of Christmas, I was told in no uncertain terms that they had just about called the ski patrol to find me.  But their new indoor/outdoor dog Fern, certainly found me when I settled in for a delightful afternoon of cookie sampling and delightful conversation.  Life is good at Little Dipper, even when it’s not croquet season.
