Home before Snow

Yours Truly at Cherry Beach on the last ride of 2016. He didn’t go for a swim.

(Harbert, Michigan) I was just going to mount my Trek bicycle, aka: Vinnie the Verve, on the trainer for a duration of winter riding in the shed, when there came a great thaw.  Prompting Natalie to say:  “Why don’t you go for a ride?  It’s supposed to snow tonight, and that will be it. This could be your last choice.  Come on, what do you say?  Go for it.” Good point, Dear Wife.  And so I wrapped myself from head-to-foot in warm, winter cycling apparel, pumped up Vinnie’s tires, splashed some oil on his chain and took off on my ride-around-Harbert ride.  It was all too beautiful, and, yes, New Year’s Day is supposed to be warm and sunny, and most of the snow from Thursday night has already melted, so you know yours truly is going to get 2017 started on the right pedal.  Ride on!

Look homeward, Vinnie. This is looking north on Prairie Road before it heads east before it heads north again. Go figure.
