First Foot Foto Fest

(New Year’s Day, 2017) First Footing in Scotland on New Year’s Day involves copious drams of whiskey.  First Footing in Harbert, Michigan requires nothing more than a bicycle with full tires, a digital camera with fresh batteries, and a Scottish-American with a keen, sober eye, and a spirit of adventure.  And so, here you have it—the results of my First Foot Foto Fest on the first day of 2017.  Nollaig Chridhell agus Blladhna Mhath Ùr!

    For Natalie: Do you remember a classmate from Palatine High named Linda Baker? She hasn’t seen you since you went dashing off to U of Chicago. Anyway, she remembers Natalie Deviney and thinks she may have found you being strong and brilliant as always, there in Michigan.
