The Return of Winter

(Harbert, Michigan) With the return of winter on Thursday, January 26, 2017, I am moved to publish these recent photographs of our beach on Lake Michigan.  The ice was melting when I took these, but, with the return of winter, perhaps the ice shelves will return.  Winter is not right in these parts without some dramatic ice shelving along the shore to behold but not tread upon.  Happy winter!

"I'm melting!"

“I’m melting!”

It was hardly the sunset coast when this was taken.

A pure Michigan moment on the beach.

Shore is magical.

Shore is magical.

The ice flows of Harbert.

The ice floes of Harbert.
