Winter Quarters

img_2236(Harbert, Michigan) Vinnie the Verve took me for one more winter ride before the return of winter on Friday, January 27, 2017, and so we went to Cherry Beach for a look at the lake and then an eastbound dash along East Road with a following wind off the lake. When the snows of January fell on Sunday, I bit the bullet and switched Vinnie’s road wheel for a training wheel and mounted my trusty Trek on the trainer. And off I went for a zero-mileage bike ride in the backroom, as the snow fell and the thermometer dipped back into the normal range for this time of year.  Now I can read and ride Vinnie without running over roadside critters.  Life is good when you have a trainer.  Speaking of which, I am quite happy with the Minoura Live Ride LR-340 I purchased from Bike Stop in Michigan City.  Thanks, Pat, for getting me going this winter.  Vinnie and I will be in great shape for the spring cycling season, thanks to you.  Now, we need to get Natalie and Black Magic Woman back in shape.

One last look at the lake from the platform at Cherry Beach. Thanks for the memories, Vinnie.
