Up North

When you live in one of the southernmost counties of Michigan, getting up north once or twice a year is a real treat. And by getting up north, I mean heading up to Conway north of Petoskey for the annual Saint Patrick’s Weekend Retreat at the cozy Augustine Center.  This was my third year, and I am already marking my calendar for next year.  Nothing like getting up north during Lent to prepare one’s self for the coming of Easter to a southern county.

If it’s going to snow in Michigan in March, it’s going to snow in the north country.

My home-away-from-home in the north country.

A prayerful walk in the north woods.

Heading home by way of Petoskey.
