Day of the Shay

This cabbage-stack, three-truck locomotive, Oregon Lumber Co. No 7 is featured in the May issue of Trains Magazine. The Lima Locomotive Works’ last 3-foot-gauge Shay, is owned and operated by the Hesston Steam Museum in La Porte, Indiana. Visit: for this year’s schedule. And, yes, I will paint this locomotive shortly and post the results.

And here, as of 11:45 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, are the results. Anyone need a signed Charles McKelvy painting for their collection?
