Wedding March

Let’s tag along and see where this leads.

(University of Notre Dame, Indiana) We had no sooner witnessed an amazing Met Opera HD Live broadcast of Verdi’s ten-hankie tragedy, Luisa Miller, at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, than we headed out for a stroll around campus and heard the skirl o’ the pipes. The pipes, the pipes they were calling us deeper into the campus, and, lo and behold, we beheld our friend Leonard Sailor and fellow members of the Caledonia Kilty Pipe Band piping a wedding party across campus from the wedding to the reception.  We followed along and are thus able to present this wee concert by the band from Mishawaka, Indiana:

Natalie with Piper Leonard Sailor in the shadow of Knute Rockne. Leonard, so you know, played the pipes at my mother’s funeral in 2014.

I saw the Stockyard Kilty band at the St. Pat’s parade with my brother Larry. I remember you two were joining the band when the price of the uniforms and instruments overwhelmed you.
